Thanks to everyone who came out, it was a little cold in the morning but soon got better throughout the day. This was our last meeting of the season, we'll see everyone again later in the year. This event was run as a Chicago shootout style. Thanks also to all club members for this season!

Runner up: Anthony Morris

Bikes;
Winner: Matt Ireland
Runner up: Derek Hateley

Murray Rogers was the top car qualifier, and Terry Malone was top bike qualifier.

WADDRA members supporting Motorvate Melbourne!

WADDRA members Peter Undy, Darryl Porter, Stephen Griffin and the McCosh family travelled to Melbourne for the Motorvate Melbourne event.

Motorvate Melbourne is a focus group for all car lovers, they're trying to convince the Victorian Government to build a dedicated 1/4 mile track in Melbourne as it's been 10 years since the last ANDRA Championship Drag Racing.

The WA Government built Perth Motorplex, the NSW Government built WSID and the QLD Government helped to build Willowbank Raceway.

We're currently in the process of getting our own permanent built track here in Warrnambool, you can support us by becoming a club member.

Well over 600 cars & at least 16,000 car lovers showed up for the day which included, Top Fuel fire ups every hour. Which was a great taste of what they can actually do out on the drag strip.

Paton's Transport presents drag racing at Warrnambool City Dragway, Sunday the 28th of February.

This event will have a Harley Davidson bracket along with our normal cars & bikes brackets.

Gates open at 7AM and racing from 9AM until 5PM.

Pricing: Competitors - $50, Spectators - $10, Children U/14 Free

Firstly a big thank you for the great turnout from spectators & competitors, it’s one of our biggest turnouts yet.

Secondly we're very sorry because of the early finish of the drag racing, but it was out of our control. The airport needed to be packed up as an air ambulance had to make an emergency landing.

We're moving closer in getting our own track that's dedicated to drag racing, so please stick with us.

Thirdly congrats to ncukingfuts (Gemini) taking 1st place in the burnout comp, easty for 2nd and racenu (LH Torana) for 3rd.

Our next event is 28th of February, hope to see you there!

K & A Hards Earthmoving presents drag racing and burnout competition at Warrnambool City Dragway Sunday the 31st of January.

Gates open at 7AM and racing from 9AM until 5PM.
Pricing: Competitors - $50, Spectators - $10, Children U/14 Free!

Also the burnout competition has $1000 up for grabs for winners, prizes down to 3rd place.

But you must pre-enter.

It was quite a nice day out at the strip with some very consistent cars ripping down the strip. Around 350 spectators watched 35 cars & bikes at the event to carry through the day.

Results:

Quick 16, 1st Keith Hards, 2nd Anthony Morris.
Super Sedan, 1st Clinton Warburton, 2nd Luke Warren
Bikes, 1st Terry Malone, 2nd Tony Frost.

Warrnambool Drags - Update

A reminder to the W.D.D.R.A community that on the last Thursday of each month there is a club meeting. This is to discuss matters related to the club, Feel free to come along.

A while ago we placed a proposal for our own track to be built in the Warrnambool area, The Warrnambool City Council has arranged a meeting next Thursday (30/07/2009) regarding weather it's going ahead (Hopefully it will). Will be an update on Friday morning after.
